Lightbulb Tips for SEO

This all are Top TEN search Engine
Google
Yahoo
AOL
MSN
ASK
InfoSpace
AltaVista
Overture
Netscape
EarthLink
LookSmart

Must-Do
1. Keywords used in the title of your pages (between the <TITLE> tags).
2. Keywords used in headings (H1) and in the first paragraph of your pages.
3. Keywords used in link text, both on your site AND on other websites.
4. The PageRank (PR) value of your pages, which in turn is dependent on
the numner of links that point to your site from other sites.
5. Pages that contain at least 200 words of relevant text content (and the more
pages the better).

What can I do for keywords?
1. Need Keywords? Go on 'WordTracker' at Keyword Research Tools for SEO
2. By analyzing your website traffic statistics

Primary Keyword
Our website provides service, product or information. This is your Keyword Phrase
and is the one phrase that will be included on all your web pages, particularly on
your home page.
For ex. Stock Market <-- Primary Keyword
1. Bombay Stock Exchange <-- Secondary Keyword
2. National Stock Exchange
3. World Market

**NOTE**

We already know google uses automated software to analyze the text on your site. This means you know? It'll "IGNORE Graphic and other Multimedia elements" on your site like Animation, Francy graphic,Flash...

- First of all you need to still update your site regular basis. Obviously this means pay-per-click campaign

Theme and Topic
- The general subject or category of your website dictates it's THEME.
- Loosely stated, the theme of your website is generally your Primary Keyword Phrase.
- If our site have major more subject than we need to create multiple sites.
For ex. I'm owner of stocks-duniya.com so I have mojor 3 subject
1. Bombay Stock Exchange
2. National Stock Exchange
3. World Market
I have selected this 3 subject are major for my web site, I need to create
Multiple site. You can use your infant domain like:
1. bse.stocksduniya.com
2. nse.stocksduniya.com
.....
- "EACH PAGE SHOULD HOWEVER CONTAIN A MINIMUM OF ABOUT 200 VISIBLE WORDS OF TEXT TO MAXIMIZE RELEVANCE
WITH GOOGLE."

>>CAUTION<<
Don't create pages that are all identical or nearly so. Google may consider them to be spam
or duplicates and your page (or site) may be penalized. Pages full of high quality, unique,
keyword-rich content are a must. Be careful if you both HTML and PDF version of the same
content. Google will index both.
To prevent this, create a robots.txt file and place it in the main (root) directory on your
server. A robots.txt file specifies which directories and file types to exclude from crawling.
If your PDF files are duplicates of your HTML files, put all the PDF files in a different
directory and specify that this directory by excluded from crawling. For more information on
creating a robots.txt file, see
http://www.searchengineworld.com/rob...s_tutorial.htm

Sample Website
- Home Page
- Your main product, service, or content pages (this is the meat of your site)
- FAQ page(s) (Frequently Asked Questions)
- Sitemap page (links to each page on your site)
- About Us page
- Contact Us page
- Related Links page(s)
- Link to Us page
- Testimonials page
- Copyright, Disclaimers, Privacy Policy page
- Ordering page

Domain Name
- Inversehost.com
- It's a general but I most of people making mistake to take his/her domain. If your business
name is Stocks Duniya, register and use stocks-duniya.com
- As a general rule of thumb, don't use more than two hyphens, it's looks spammy and google may
take a closer look at your site for other possible issues.

**Note**
"Keywords" META tag is ignored by Google.
- The title shouldn't consist of much more than about 9 words or 60 characters, with your keywords
used at the very beginning of the title.
- Improper or nonexistent use of titles in web pages will keep more website out of top rankings on
Google than any other factor except perhaps for lack of relevant content on a page or a lack of
quality links from other websites that point to your site.
- Google may think these sites are about homes!
__________________________________________________ ______________
_______WEB PAGE_______IMPROPER TITLE_______PROPER TITLE___________________________________
Home Page | "Home" | "Unique house plans, home plans & home designs |
Contact page | "Contact Us" | "Contact us for questions about our house plans" |
About page | "About us" | "We are all about house plans" |
Link page | "Links" |"Links to more information about house plans" |
__________________________________________________ ______________

Keyword Place
1. Title: <TITLE>keywords</TITLE>. Use starting with first or second word in the title.
2. Heading: <H1>keywords</H1>, <H2>keywords</H2>. Use a stylesheet (CSS file) to control the
size of heading text to make it blend in better.
3. First paragraph of page (first 20 words): <BODY><P>keywords</P> Bold and/or italicize
keywords also.
4. Link (anchor) text: <A HREF>keywords</A>. The clickable portion of links.
5. Last paragraph of page: <P>keywords</P>
<script type="text/javascript"><!--
window.google_analytics_uacct = "UA-8646170-1";
var gaJsHost = (("https:" == document.location.protocol) ? "https://ssl." : "http://www.");
document.write(unescape("%3Cscript src='" + gaJsHost + "google-analytics.com/ga.js' type='text/javascript'%3E%3C/script%3E"));
//-->
</script>
<script type="text/javascript"><!--
try {

var pageTracker = _gat._getTracker("UA-8646170-1");
pageTracker._trackPageview();

} catch(err) {}
//-->
</script>
</BODY>
6. Drop-down boxes: <FORM><OPTION>keywords</FORM></OPTION>
7. URLs: <A HREF="http://www.keywords.com/"></A>
8. Folder & file names: keywords/keywords.html, keywords.gif
9. Image ALT text: <IMG SRC="" ALT="keywords">
10.Link TITLE attribute text: <A HREF="" TITLE="keywords"></A> (Display in Internet Explorer only)

- Keywords found in link text should match keywords found on the page that the link points to - especially
in the title of the page.
For ex.
1. Text-Based (Ideal) Link Structure:
<A HREF="your-keywords.html" TITLE="your keywords">your keywords</A>

2. Graphics Link Structure:
<A HREF="your-keywords.html">
<IMG SRC="your-keywords.gif" ALT="your keywords" BORDER="0"</A>

What GOOGLE Ignores
Google ignores the following elements on your web pages. Due to their abuse and misuse, META tag are a
thing of the past with Google!
-> Information in the <META name="Keywords"> tag
-> Information in the <META name="Description"> tag
-> Information in the <!-Comments--> tag
-> Information within <STYLE>
-> Information within <SCRIPT> tag (JavaScript and other client-side code)
-> Duplicate links to the same page (only counts once)
-> Links that point to the same page they are on
-> Any graphics or multimedia (menu buttons, photos, animations, Flash)

Linking Your Web Pages
"YOU NEED AT LEAST ONE INCOMING LINK BEFORE YOU SHOW UP IN GOOGLE AT ALL!

- Download "GOOGLE TOOLBAR", It's display PR.
Google Toolbar

PERSONAL TIP:
1. Analyze your meta-tag here:

2. Start Competition with your opponent :

Great tips, especially the part about having duplicate content. Search engines frown upon having the same content and your website might even be flagged as spam. And of course, Google is the top search engine. It has been on #1 for years.

Posting regular content to the site is the best way to ensure the crawlers come back for more. Also, increasing your PageRank through inbound links will also make the Googlebot happy.

I have tried piles of search engines and the best one for a novice user, like your Dad, would be the SearchGeek search engine.

Never try to target everything on single page, create secondary pages and try your best to rank those pages.
